Perhaps you've been misled in thinking that meditation is hard. Or that it's only achievable after sitting cross-legged for 30 years under a bodhi tree. Perhaps you've done courses and learned techniques, but meditation still offers nothing useful in your life. Still, you're looking for that unknown element that will finally change your experience and understanding of meditation. And so, here you are.
There's a part of you (let's call it your ego) that may likely tell you that you can't do this training; that you don't have enough experience or ability; that you're not 'enlightened' enough; that you don't have the time; that you're too old, too young, too shy, too loud, too anxious, too fidgety, too new to this world of meditation, or even that you're beyond it. Yet, here you are.
And somewhere there's a small voice that's curious. That's the voice your ego doesn't want you to listen to... because when you do listen to that curious voice, you begin to embark on change, to grow and to thrive, and your ego starts to lose its grip on you and begins to fade and dissolve. The best bit is, all the way I've got your back and have the know-how to prove your ego wrong!
Meditation Mentorship - A Training Like No Other
This mentorship program provides a framework that takes all participants through a developmental system progressing from the ground up. More than a course to simply guide you on your way, this mentorship walks you through the practitioner knowledge base for deep understanding. Not only will you develop your own skill and meditation practice to a level of depth and useful application that many do not otherwise experience, but you will also learn how to share this fundamental system to others.
The Mentorship training is for everyone, regardless of previous meditation experience.
Practical Meditation
Is there such a thing? Yes. If you can implement practices that positively change your life experience, then those practices are useful and therefore add meaning to your life. All learning in this training is evidence based. Your experience will be founded on what is quite literally occurring within you.
Using progressive building blocks, this very practical training is structured in a very sequential order creating stepping stones on a path to Zen. Your job is to walk the path and keep on it, and when you do, you can't help but arrive at the path's destination. For many, keeping on the path is the hard part. That's where a mentorship becomes very helpful!
With all this said, interestingly, of all the practical benefits we seek from meditation, as our experience develops and deepens, something far more meaningful evolves... quite co-incidentally and often unexplainably. It cannot be taught in a book, nor understood through study. Beyond mental comprehension, this can only become known through experience. We come to know the deeper, multi-faceted, invaluable experience of meditation.
Embodied Awareness
Mindfulness plays a very integral role in the meditation process, but what is the use of mindfulness if it's not changing your life for the better? If you've practiced Mindfulness before, you're probably familiar with becoming aware of your breath, of sensations in your body, of sounds around you, of your environment, and your thoughts and feelings. Maybe you've even become aware of your responses and reactions to the objects you are witnessing. These are very valid practices of mindfulness, and very helpful in the process of making peace with yourself and life. However, the reality for many is that they have practised 'mindfulness' techniques wholeheartedly with very little transfer of positive change into their life. Is there something more to meditation than training your mind to be attentive?
Have you consciously looked at how you interact with the world, and become intimately aware of the 'driver' who is navigating your life in the vehicle of your body? And have you consciously looked at the physical messages your own body is sending you in every single living moment? Palpable, unquestionable messages that point back to your own insecurities, fears and resistances? Have you taken a good, deep look at all that encompasses being you? This. Yes, this. Is Mindful Self Awareness. Mindfulness at its most practical. It's one thing to have tools and practices that improve mindfulness in your life. It's something else to use that mindful awareness and shine it in places that would otherwise remain in the dark! By leaning far enough into this unfamiliar terrain, you can eventually land in it, and broaden your own world.
Gradually over the 3-month period, the 'mental' knowledge of the processes that you develop will be surpassed by an 'experiential' understanding, and following the steps, in time, 'mindfulness' will be superseded by 'awareness' - an experience where the mind has no place at all!

The success of this mentorship is based on
EDUCATION: Comprehensive learning of the many facets involved with the meditation process. You will be delivered the what, how and why behind all that I have ever taught over the years, gaining a greater depth of understanding beyond a guided mindfulness course, and beyond meditation itself.
PRACTICE: A Mentorship of consistent, deep, daily practice You will be guided through the journey of meditation with daily practice over a period of 3 months.
TEACHING: The process of teaching others the methods that you yourself have learned will integrate your own learning and understanding. As you take your experience a step further, learning to guide others, you will solidify and deepen your own experience in ways that it could not otherwise, and gain an instructor’s insight to meditation

Commitment - 3 Month Mentorship
Minimum 100 hour training
IN PERSON: 6x Fortnightly 1x day in-house trainings 10am-4pm (Saturdays @ Sunshine Coast OR Sundays @ Cleveland).
IN PERSON: 1x 3-Day Weekend in-house training. (Silent Day Retreat Friday 10-3pm. Saturday & Sunday in-house training 10-4pm).
ZOOM: 5x Fortnightly group zoom meetings Sundays 8-9.30am Revision, practice & Q&A . This occurs every alternate weekend to the in-house training.
ONLINE: Recorded guided daily practice Monday to Friday.

This training involves a combination of face-to-face and online participation. All ‘learning’ components are delivered in person which is a refreshing way to learn in our modern world of predominantly on-line solo learning. Face-to-face learning allows you to ask questions as they arise, and provides motivation and stimulation from real life engagement, with time for interacting with other like-minded students, and more importantly, hands-on physical experience and practice in a capacity that you just cannot get online. There is no tedious ‘going-it-alone’ learning component.
If I miss a day, can I attend a make-up class at the second venue?
If you are training at the Sunshine Coast and are unable to attend one of your in-house training days, it may be possible to pre-arrange attendance of the same session at Brisbane (and vice-versa). This is at the discretion of the facilitator.
CAN i JUST DO THIS MENTORSHIP for my OWN BENEFIT?
You can absolutely enroll without becoming certified! This training is all about you. Establishing a foundation of self-awareness is core to the program. As a part of the learning however, you will also be shown how to share the skills you have learned with others. This really solidifies the depth of your learning in ways that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. Completing the assessments to become a certified practitioner is entirely up to you!
I have never done meditation before? How will I be able to teach these skills
With the nature and thorough structure of this training, and all of the support you have in the learning process, you will find teaching the skills you have learned becomes an easily accessible and worthwhile pursuit. With structured understanding, guidance, practice and support you’ll be surprised at what you have achieved by the end of the mentorship!

WILL I NEED INSURANCE TO TEACH?
Once certified, you will need insurance to facilitate sessions. Insurance House provides insurance for these modalities.
how in-depth is each module?
While each module has its own designated lesson day, this is not the only time we touch on the content of the module. In fact, this training continually overlaps content, re-iterating learned information, and preparing for modules before you even get there! For example, you will be starting your meditation practice from the very first module, eventhough Meditation doesn't come in until module 3; you will be practicing breath work well beyond module 1; some techniques already learned in previous modules will be applied to the Anxiety module; you will be practicing sharing your new learned skills with others throughout the entire mentorship eventhough we don't approach the teaching module until our final weekend; and the entire process is one of developing self-awareness throughtout the duration of the mentorship, yet Self-Awareness is module number 6!
While I could jam a lot of unnecessary theory, and a lot more content in to this mentorship, I believe in producing competent facilitators who have really dived deep into their learning. It's not realistic to expect competency after covering each module independently from each other, ticking it off and calling it done, and then moving on to the next. Each module in this mentorship builds on the last, and is intertwined with all others for depth and thorough understanding.
I am inherently a teacher. I share my wisdom to my utmost, and ensuring learning is integrated as much as possible is the source of my drive and satisfaction. I have no interest in ticking off boxes.
