Reflections

​If I could paint a picture of the perfect yoga and meditation space it would be Lisa's Yoga and Meditation Lounge. On my travels throughout SE Asia and Australia over recent months I've practiced in many different yoga and meditation studios but none have come close in creating the feeling of instant calmness and serenity that you experience the moment you step through the door at the Lounge. The tutors put you at ease immediately and offer variations to each pose to suit every ability. I felt I'd come home when I attended several of the sessions here. I only wish I was in the area for longer to fully benefit from the nurturing yoga and meditation guided by Lisa, Carmel and Tash. Thank you.

I experienced this beautiful place during a Red Tent gathering in 2014. I loved being in The Lounge, the energy was amazing and comforting. I researched it and found the Lounge in Cleveland because they pay particular attention to injuries and make sure you go at your own place in a relaxed air conditioned space. I just wanted to thank you immensely for your guidance during the Meditation course which enhanced my ability to let go of stress and anxiety. The environment is warm, welcoming and peaceful at the same time. It's like time stops when you take off your shoes and enter the Lounge. The mat is your own space to honor your body and go with your flow. Blissful, is how I'd describe it.

I had recently been through a stressful health scare. This stressful event in my life led me to Lisa where I benefited from a wonderful, gentle therapy session. I attribute this session as an important part of my healing from this stressful time in my life. After the session & years of listening to guided meditations I decided to attend the Mindfulness Meditation course. It was quite dramatically different from what I had encountered from the guided meditations I was used to. After the first class I was able to go progressively deeper into a meditative state of which I can now access on my own, although I still attend the different types of classes offered at the Lounge as I feel it's really beneficial to me. The Lounge is a peaceful place and I always feel completely comfortable in this setting. All types of people attend, there is no stereotype as meditation helps us all. Lisa ensures that all feel comfortable. She really makes sure you as an individual feel comfortable, letting you know you can sit or lay however makes you comfortable, and to do things in your own time regardless of what others are doing. Lisa is gentle and kind to the core and I can't recommend the services offered at 'The Lounge' highly enough.

I absolutely loved the Beginner course. I finally got a true understanding of how to practice yoga and the feeling of each pose and movement. I've practiced yoga at gyms where you do the poses without any instruction or help to know if you are doing it correctly. I now feel comfortable using the props and for me the meditation aspect is what brought me to the Lounge as its such a wonderful way to de-stress and focus on ourselves. It has helped me so much both mentally and physically.

I want to publicly thank the Yoga & Meditation Lounge for providing this little haven in my hectic life, where I can go and just be...I know people go and share in a class for their own personal reasons, mainly to reduce the stresses of their busy lifestyle. I found this studio quite by chance and although I had tried yoga once a long time ago, I didn't really find the benefits that I had read about. Well, so I thought. But the truth is, I hadn't found 'me' and I didn't want to 'waste time' on me when I had sssooooo much to get on with! In March 2013 after a long illness and surgery I was told that more surgery may be needed, so I set out to find an answer away from traditional practices and I found a treasure trove. A treasure trove of good food practices, the way to honest positive thought and the everyday practices of being mindful. I took the time to discover me and I love where I am. Yesterday I was told I have an incurable disease but with continued positivity and being in the moment of everyday happenings, I give thanks because without the knowledge gained from my meditation practices with Lisa and the Lounge, I would not be content in just being. I went looking for an answer to my health issues but all along it was waiting for me, right here, inside of me. Thank You xx

I loved the Restorative Yoga Course with Carmel. She has the most wonderful yoga voice, something I am quite particular about when practicing yoga, and was such a good teacher. I found it to be most beneficial for me too with rheumatoid arthritis and adrenal fatigue. I even learned some new moves which was great to add to my repertoire at home. I do practice at home but am better when guided - hence the return to classes. I loved the last week when Lisa used the essential oils on us.The Lounge is a great space and it's so nice hearing the birds when the windows are open. Overall it was an excellent course.

I don't think you would find a better environment in which to practice yoga. The Lounge is a dedicated yoga space complete with props, beautiful cushions, lighting, a wonderful ambiance for sure. Lisa brings everything of herself to the Lounge, she fills the space with love, kindness, gratitude and a depth of practice which I love. Her deep understanding of yoga principles permeate every class. I have been attending Lisa's classes for several years and am learning and growing in my journey all the time. Not only does Lisa have an excellent background in the anatomy of yoga, she excels in her meditations, pranayama, yoga nidra and the philosophy of yoga. I love the depth of Lisa's classes and would highly recommend her classes to all yogis, from beginner to wherever your journey takes you. Thank you Lisa, you give yourself to your students.

A decision to make up for the more physical Yoga class I usually attended by going to the Restorative Deep Peace class had me hooked. Lisa is truly blessed and these classes have enabled me to finally tap into my box of sadness and release what I had been suppressing for years. Being a very rational person, I always told myself crying was pointless because it didn't change reality. This approach meant I never allowed myself to feel sad about what had happened in my past. Restorative yoga helped me to unlock, at last, these suppressed feelings and I feel so much better since I allowed myself to just let go - Thank you so much.

I have regularly meditated at classes elsewhere, but the Mindfulness Meditation course at the Lounge is the only place where I've felt (and had explained to me) there is no right or wrong. There is no better instructive teacher than Lisa. I had never done yoga before and now love it so much I'm doing 4-5 classes a week. All the instructors at the Lounge bring something different, and they are all truly amazing. I've dabbled in meditation on my own before but could never get into it. I tried the Slow and Mindful class last night with Lisa. I felt relaxed, invigorated and calm at the same time. I'm the kind of person that wants to be able to do things on my own. But having her guidance allowed me to experience a much deeper and more fulfilling meditation than doing it on my own. Also, normally in the mornings I wake up with chronic pain at about a 9 out of 10. To help you understand, it feels like someone is sawing through my bones with a rusty carving knife. What I'm really stoked about is today I woke up with my chronic pain about a 3 out of 10. Unfortunatley I live overseas, but if I was staying in Brisbane longer I would 100% become a regular!!!

Like so many people, before coming to the Lounge, I was a real stress puppy. I have had a lot to deal with over the past years with changing life circumstances, hugely emotional situations. I wasn't coping, there was so much responsibility, and was lost in all of it. I begged the universe for an answer, for help. I saw the poster for your gentle yoga classes on the wall of Wrays Organics and was drawn to it. I took the details, and 'sat' on them, until I was brave enough to act. I had lost a bit of confidence over the years. I can honestly say, the best thing I have done, was stepping through your very welcoming door. I know others have expressed that the Lounge is their happy place, and it is mine now too. The "ahh-ha!" moment in meditation, was learning that I can't always control what is going to happen....but I can control how I react to it! I'm loving the Yoga so very much as well. I don't hold myself in such a tight ball anymore, and I can breathe. Simple, but life changing for me. So again, a thousand thanks!
