An extended experience of the One Day Stress Detox Retreats held at the Lounge, this retreat offers a full weekend of Mindfulness Meditation practice and quietude amidst the beautiful rolling hills of Pinbarren in the picturesque Noosa hinterland.
All of us love and need to retreat from the world occasionally. Spend a weekend in harmony with yourself and allow your body and mind to regenerate. Switch off your phone, the television, your computer, the radio, and chatter. Today's bombardment of mental and sensory input most often results in an overstimulated mind and a shutting down of the senses - essentially a numbed experience of life. We live in a world today where we receive more information in one day that people born 100 years ago got in a life time! How do we balance that?
This dedicated weekend of quiet meditation and restoration, together with Noble Silence (observed from Saturday onward) will provide complete rest for all of the senses. The energy of silence and mindfulness penetrates the flesh and bones, and calmness prevails. In silence we cultivate higher levels of effortless hearing, perception, and vision. In silence you'll notice an instant reduction of mental input, an increase of sensory awareness, and a more intimate experience of any given moment. It inspires reflection and asks us to meet the self that exists behind the mask of chatter. This retreat offers an opportunity to experience the profound benefits of quietude, cultivating a sensitive energy for meditation and enhanced receptivity for restorative relaxation.
During this weekend you will practice and establish foundations for an effective, systematic Mindfulness Meditation technique that you can take home with you and continue to benefit from at a greater depth in your day to day life. You will establish a good understanding and application of practice so you can sit confidently and effectively on your own. Nurturing relaxation sessions will be woven between Mindfulness Meditation sittings to heighten the experience of awareness and restore balance to the body and mind.
Together with the Meditation, and saturated in lush sessions dedicated to nurturing yourself and honoring each moment that passes, this retreat may be just what you need to re-set any mental, emotional or physical imbalances.
Twin share accommodation (10 spaces only)set amongst the rolling hills of the picturesque Noosa Hinterland (including linen and towels).
All meals: nourishing vegetarian cuisine sourced from The BIG House's organic gardens and local surrounds.

For the deepest and most effective experience of this stress-detox weekend, please observe the following:
Comfortable clothing with socks, and removable warm over-garments for sessions.
Noble silence is observed from Saturday through to Sunday afternoon. This is an integral part of the detox process. No phones.
Please prepare yourself for a full weekend of committed attendance at the retreat by dedicating the entire time to your healing. Please make arrangements that will enable you to be available and attentive to the practices without outside disruption and leave your phone and laptops behind. (Leaving the location and/or making phone calls throughout the retreat period will interfere with the sensitive energy cultivated during the weekend).
Concerned about the twin share? Rest assured you don't need to bring a partner. We'll gather and divide up the rooms between us, and share the experience of The Big House in quietude together :)
