RESTORATIVE In these nourishing classes you will learn how to relax and re-pattern the body's response to stress, creating awareness and familiarity with the state of relaxation. With a meditative, healing and stress-relieving approach, this class invites you to sink into supported poses for up to 5 minutes soothing the nervous system. Through the practice of 'letting go' you will release stress and tension physically, emotionally and mentally, to feel lighter, nourished and well rested. Suited for students who may be more interested in resting and relaxing to unwind than in a physical practice.
VERY GENTLE An uncomplicated class encouraging very gentle mobility in all joints of the body. Simple movements are offered with many modifications to accommodate individual restrictions. A popular class for seniors.
GENTLE Offering gentle variations of yoga poses, this class is wonderful for anyone who enjoys a less physical practice and just wants to unwind physically and mentally.
YIN A quiet class where poses are held for up to 5 minutes to gently release the body's connective tissue and fascia. This class will unwind the body while cultivating a quietening of the mind and nervous system. Suitable for all levels this class invites you to settle into your own place of comfort and surrender.
HEALTHY BACK A great class for everybody, with a focus on strengthening the core & bringing mobility to the spine and hips. Bring a freedom of movement to your daily affairs, minimise the risk of back pain, & introduce your body to improved posture, & your spine to new found health. GENERAL A diverse and potentially more dynamic class offering a range of both contemporary and classical postures which may vary in intensity and focus from week to week.
VINYASA This is our strongest practice at the Lounge, peppered with challenging transitions, fluid sequencing and playful exploration of strength and flexibility. With fine tuning of your body during dynamic movement, this class will keep you anchored in your body while also shifting stagnant energy.
